Emma Roberts tries on the loafers and socks trend with a chained miniskirt

Emma Roberts took to Instagram to share a snapshot of her latest outfit, courtesy of Valentino.

For the occasion, the “Nerve” actress posed in a versatile retro ensemble. Her outfit consisted of a cream short-sleeved top with a red neckline, as well as a navy blue miniskirt accented with a gold chain, both from the Italian luxury brand. Her outfit was completed with thin gold rings and hoop earrings, black socks and a red leather Rockstud handbag covered with pyramid-shaped studs.
“It was a @maisonvalentino day in LA,” Roberts captioned the snapshot, complete with red heart, palm tree, and popcorn emojis.
As for shoes, Roberts donned a pair of punky loafers, also from Valentino. Its $970 VLogo Chain style featured black leather uppers, with stitching that pulled the leather inward for an added vintage effect. The pair was complete with a gold brass chain sign a central ‘V’ logo, along with cropped 0.4 inch heels. When paired with Roberts’ black socks, the ensemble acquired an academic appearance with a subversively edgy edge.

Preppy loafers like Roberts’ rose to popularity thanks to their vintage roots and college background, and many are now associated with knee-high socks. The best styles often include penny loafer straps or chunky soles, as seen in new pairs from Alexander McQueen, Tod’s and Sam Edelman. Roberts’ shoe choices often vary between bohemian, contemporary, and edgy styles. When not on duty, the “Unfabulous” actress’s pairs range from Ferragamo platform sandals to Ugg boots, prioritizing ease and comfort. However, she frequently wears more versatile pairs, such as Valentino or Alexander McQueen Chelsea boots, Frankie4 sandals and Gucci mules. When she walks the red carpet, she often dons neutral or embellished pointy-toe pumps, strappy sandals and ankle boots from brands such as Christian Louboutin, Prada and Chloe Gosselin.
