Are you ready for the return of Ugg high boots?
In January, the It-girls couldn’t get enough of mini Uggs. Irina Shayk, Kendall Jenner, Emily Ratajkowski and many more have taken to the streets with the Classic Ultra Mini, which hits the ankle against the brand’s classic mid-calf silhouette. They turned out to be a sleeker, more understated take on the classic tall boots, which you may remember being worn by stars like Paris Hilton in the early 2000s.
But that was early 2021. Now it looks like we’re going back to full-fledged Ugg boots. At least Gigi Hadid is. This week in New York, the model took to the streets wearing the sheepskin-lined Ugg Classic II high boot, which costs £ 210 and is currently available in brown, black and gray suede. Instead of pairing it with Juicy Couture sweatshirts like, say, Lindsay Lohan maybe did in the 2000s, Hadid styled it in a non-Juicy cream tracksuit, a fleece vest, d ‘a Loro Piana mini clutch with top handle and a personalized dad cap.
So, are you ready for the official comeback of big Uggs like Hadid? As spring warms up, it seems unlikely they’ll make a full-fledged comeback. But for the quick run to the supermarket or cafe, there is nothing better than shoes that look like pillows for your feet. And now they’re model-approved as well.
