Adele Roberts has stoma prolapse after battle with bowel cancer
Adele Roberts told fans her stoma had prolapsed, which she said was “the most grotesque thing I’ve ever seen”.
The BBC Radio 1 presenter, 43, had the stoma fitted after being diagnosed with bowel cancer last year and affectionately calls her Audrey.
Roberts, who was given the green light from cancer earlier this summer, has now shared that he had prolapsed, which the NHS says is “where the stoma comes out too high above the level of the skin”.

Opening in a video on Instagram, she joked that Audrey was the ‘naughtiest stoma in the whole country’ and revealed that she and her partner Kate Holderness used sugar to help her get it back in his body.
She said: “It looks so scary, it’s the most grotesque thing I’ve ever seen.
“We would like to show you, we filmed it to show you, but we know we can’t put this on the internet because it’s going to freak people out and especially people with ostomies and I don’t want you to worried.”
“It’s not a scary thing, it just looks really scary,” Holderness added.
She then used her arm to show how far he had fallen.
“I can’t believe I’m not dead!” Robert laughed. “It was like a trunk!
The star also posted a picture on Instagram of herself with sugar all over her belly
“If you had told me a year ago that I would suck my colon, I wouldn’t have believed you!” she wrote.
“It’s actually quite shocking to be fair…but I think it’s also important to share — I didn’t know that could happen,” she continued.
“I was freaked out and very scared, but thanks to others sharing their stories online, I realized it was quite common and looked worse than it was.”
Roberts told others to call their ostomy nurse or see a doctor if the same thing happened to them.

Referring to the fact that it happened the day Scott Mills said goodbye to BBC Radio 1, she joked: ‘How am I going to tell Scott Mills I couldn’t go to his going away party because my colon was dragging.”
